What I Learned In America...
An outsider's view of what makes the United States unique

'What I Learned In America' started as one of those conversations that two friends have on the couch when there is nothing much on TV. The kind where someone says "wouldn't this be a great idea" and the other person says "yes". Normally they are forgotten about by the next day, but not this one. This one actually seemed cool. Cool enough to buy a domain name and build a website, anyway.

We wanted to give a voice to all the non-Americans that have visited or lived in the States and have stories to tell. Not necessarily big stories, or ones that have changed your life. More the kind of minutae that makes you stop for a minute and think. The kind of story that is told to friends in the pub, then forgotten. This site is here to make them live on forever for others to enjoy.
